HOW DOES THE RDTI WORK?

About the Assessment Team

Callaghan Innovation has a team of experienced scientists, engineers and technologists who are responsible for assessing RDTI applications.

Their job is to consider whether your R&D meets the necessary eligibility criteria set out in legislation.

An appropriate specialist will assess your application

Your application will be assessed by someone with appropriate qualifications and experience, relevant to the type of R&D you are doing.

The assessment process

We will aim to complete the assessment as quickly as possible.

In some cases, you may be asked to provide extra information or have a site visit.

We will keep in touch with you throughout the assessment process so you stay up to date with where your application is at.

The different role of Assessors and Customer Engagement Specialists

Please note that:

  • the Assessment Team is separate from the Customer Engagement Specialists
  • the role of Customer Engagement Specialists is to help you understand the RDTI and the assessment process - they do not carry out actual assessments
  • Customer Engagement Specialists are unable to provide any further assistance regarding a particular application once it is being assessed.
